Regarding Chris Savage article
There has been a resurgence of the RECALL RICK SNYDER EFFORT. The effort is now called MICHIGAN RISING-renamed and transformed into a Super-PAC. It consists of a few of those core members from the first recall effort; their titles have been changed, the names, however, are all too familiar to anyone involved in the first RECALL effort.
It turns out that an on-line radio wire: ROJS.com (Monica Ross Williams and Autumn Smith) conducted a ninety minute program on January 15. 2012; (link: ROJS.com;blog;reachoutjobsearchblog). The lengthy program lent time to public input regarding Gail Schmidt's report (CRRS Committee Treasurer) published here. All callers substantiated, and reinforced many points made in Gail's report. Even though Monica asked for the opposition to respond or make comment several times in the program, none were forthcoming.
On Thursday, January 19th, A2Politico.com published an interview by Chris Savage entitled:
Michigan Rising: Aiming to Recall Snyder-While
Disgruntled Former Volunteers Target Michigan Rising
It is my recommendation that the reports provided by Gail Schmidt, and myself, be read/re-read before anyone reads Chris Savage's diatribe. It is quite apparent that Mr. Savage did not. In fact, it appears that he presented -intended, or otherwise,- a biased platform enabling further the propagation of misinformation by those interviewed. Further, he did not lend equal time, and attention, to those many volunteers who have expressed-many times- a consistent concern regarding the conduct of the entire RECALL effort, and the questionable character, of some Core committee members mentioned in his article. There are many, many participants in the RECALL who remain resoundingly upset. We cannot all be wrong. Or ignored.
Mr. Savage- in writing his article- clearly has ENABLED a public advertisement for the new Recall effort- inviting participants, and donors, to join in. I find that outrageous. Outrageous.
I have spoken to both the owner-Pat Lesko of A2Politico, and Monica Ross Williams of ROJS.com.; both welcome your input, as they did mine.
No one has yet to inform the cosignors, or volunteers, just where the signature sheets are ,or who has them. I still do not know, but I want to know.

Dear Peter,
Subject: RECALL RICK SNYDER EFFORT
A rigorous and highly visible RECALL effort was initiated, state-wide, in April, against the Governor, Rick Snyder. It is the opinion, and belief, of some volunteers, that a deliberate plan was enacted, in Lenawee County, which resulted in an unsuccessful outcome.
RE: Lenawee County:
As a lead volunteer in Lenawee County, in Adrian, Michigan, I was involved on a daily basis in the RECALL effort for both our State Representative-Nancy Jenkins-57th District, and for Governor Snyder. The local RECALL against Jenkins was successful. More than the required signatures were obtained, and were set to be delivered by the county captain, Daniel Long. As the CAPTAIN, Daniel Long maintained sole possession of all signatures/petition sheets for BOTH Jenkins and Snyder. Despite a dedicated and relentless participation of volunteers, the RECALL in Lenawee County was sideswiped; I think deliberately. A total of 7318 signatures was required; credible sources report more than 8000 were obtained. Daniel Long was to deliver these to the Secretary of State office in Lansing on Friday, August 5, 2011. Enroute to Lansing, Daniel claims that he received a call that a family member had been involved in a fatal auto accident. He states that he turned around, and went immediately to the Toledo Hospital. He made no arrangements to have someone else meet him to get the petition sheets. He did not return any of several phone calls. The deadline passed. The RECALL for Jenkins failed. Daniel Long did not return those petitions until August 7, 2011. He delivered two sealed boxes containing: 1400 signatures for Nancy Jenkins. ( It was estimated that 3000 signatures obtained for recalling Snyder were collected). NO signatures for SNYDER were returned. Further, there has never been confirmation of the accident, fatality, or the named individual.
The only signatures received in the Snyder Verification post were the ones I personally collected. I did not turn my sheets to Daniel Long. These sheets were turned in to the Administration of the CORE committee directly.
RE: RECALL RICK SNYDER ORGANIZATION
Following the above incident in Lenawee county, I learned that three other counties had minimal Snyder signatures turned in for verification. Questions of why, and whereabouts of the signatures, have been asked by many dedicated volunteers. In recent weeks, I have had several conversations, and meetings, with three other women, state-wide, who share serious concerns about the conduct, and administration, of the RECALL SNYDER campaign. It is our impression, and belief, that this organization requires serious, and immediate, investigation. Collectively, we ask the single important question: WHAT was the purpose of the RECALL, and subsequently, WHERE are the signed petitions?
Countless citizens and cosigners, and hundreds of volunteers and teachers ask the same question.
It has recently been discovered that the original CORE committee to RECALL RICK SNYDER has changed the name to MICHIGAN RISING. The CORE group continues to consist of an identified CEO, Julius Muller, who continues to be a paid member. He is not a US citizen, but is a citizen of South Africa. A second member, Marion Townsend is now listed as treasurer. She remains the single person who has possession of all SNYDER petitions. No one can verify the exact location, or the safety of the location. No can knows who has access to this site, or the security of it. Finally, a final tally of total signatures collected has never been confirmed. Multiple numbers have been posted, periodically, but none have been accurate.
In summary, the questions: what, where, why, who and how- remain unanswered.
It appears that an attempt has been made to tamper with both First Amendment rights, and Voter Rights of the citizens of Michigan in the RECALL effort. At the very least, it needs investigation.
Perhaps, Peter, you may be willing to help investigate this very serious situation.
I am one of four professional women who are available to meet with you. Two women are members of the original CORE committee; all four women have important data, spread sheets, numerous e-mail correspondence, and other forms of communication . We are available to meet with you at any prearranged time, and at the earliest date possible.
I thank you for your time and attention to this very serious matter. Please contact me, and confirm that you have received this. Do not hesitate to call at any time.
Sincerely,
Dr. Victoria A. Powell
